The Irony !

The Irony! 1) If a woman is earning and taking care of household work as well as office, people say " What is there? She is getting maid's help and can spend happily as per her whims and fancies ". If someone is illiterate and does only household work depending on husband's income for expenses, people say " Poor lady. How hard she works to bring up her children. What will she do whole day? ". Though in both the cases, women are trying their best.  2) If someone doesn't know cooking and is from a village, people pity and say that poor lady she has all the life worked in fields, how she will know cooking. If an educated women tries to cook as good as possible, people say " What is there? She must have eaten good food all her life and learnt from so many TV shows or Youtube" 3) If a man doesn't know cooking, people pity that how he will manage. If a woman doesn't, people taunt " look she doesn't even know cooking, all she knows

The Highs & Lows :)

The Highs & Lows... All of us have highs and lows in life. All of us might have heard that sharing pain halves it and sharing happiness doubles. Sharing happiness indeed doubles when both the sides have positive outlook. If the happy one shares the news to show off or the listening party is full of sorrows or is simply jealous, it might not double.  The same thing happens when a person is trying to catch a breath from rock bottom. If someone is very sad within, the other person's similar sad story or success story might not motivate or inspire. Rather, it will irritate and pinch more. Neither everyone's pain is same nor the happiness.  All of us have a different magnitude of tolerance and stamina to endure the pain and celebrate happiness. No matter how better the other person proves in a difficult situation, it might not make the other to buck up or be happy if he/she is not in a mindset to do so.  Happiness might be a simple smile and at the same time, a person can't

Time and Goal_ English Poem

Time and goal..... A sun never sets A day never goes A time ever passed comes never after being passed at least not with the same face it always has some other fate Gain the sunshine let the darkness sublime see the lightening moon the stars which bloom up above the high sky pace up with changing time it will propel you to fly may your ambitions chime beyond vast blue sky Work like a sun lighten up as a moon study steadily like no one you be your shining star step up and step afar Make your destiny with spinning wheel of time only you will and you have to plan your own goal stay put to win this goal - Saranya

The Terror of Terrorism_English _Poem

The first poem that I registered in my second poem diary....(lost the first one in 7th Std.) " The Terror of Terrorism" The greatest error in the world.... is to create terrorism.. Breaking the bonds of humanity and mutual-ism... Causing great menace with the blooming terror the greatest thing it does is to find faults resulting in assaults If we as a human think only to live in peace then y anyone tries to tear Kashmir into pieces Seek the goal of every religion they tell us to be humanitarian Try to replace the terrorist along with his terrorism (may be at that time, I considered all the terrorists male) Live in Peace make others to live " a life peacefully" I guess, at that time India was fighting Kargil war....

Rice

Rice A simple food that is consumed all over India is rice. Rice is a staple food and good source of carbohydrate. There are many varieties of rice and the nutritional value differs. In India, mostly people feed rice as the first food for the infants. Rice is considered equivalent to God. There are innumerable sweet and savoury dishes prepared with rice and fondly consumed. A brown rice called as manavari arsi (rice) is part of Tamilnadu's (state in India) culture and cooked especially on the occasion of Pongal (harvest festival). It is slightly pinkish in colour and has a sticky texture. It has high content of fiber and iron. In Assam and Bengal (states of India), eat sticky rice which resembles the rice consumed in Japan and China. It is very healthy and filling. A good bowl of rice with vegetable of fish stew tastes delicious and keeps one full for a longtime.  In Kerala, thick pearl like rice is preferred. It has a bubble-like texture to it and goes very well with plethora of g

My first quote in Tamil

My first attempt to write something in Tamil: கண்ணாடியில் பார்த்தால் முதலில் காண்பது தன் கண்க‌ளே. In the mirror you see what your own eyes show I believe that no matter what happens around or how others see you or reflect, the most important thing is how you perceive, present and see yourself through your own understanding of self.

Catching Wasp

Image
Catching Wasp In summers, the jasmine flower creeper near the window bloomed to its fullest. The entire room smelled good. At night, it made weird images on the windowsill and wall. Occasionally, bees and wasps built their homes on the trees in the front garden which can be seen from the window. Once it so happened that a wasp entered the bedroom through the window. I was scared that it would somehow bite me. I came up with a brilliant idea to catch it alive and leave it in the garden. For that, I sat silently and watched it intently. Once it sat on the teddy bear in a corner, I got a small towel to hold it. I carefully kept the towel on the wasp. Bundled it softly with care. I was super happy that I did it. Now, I just had to leave it in the garden. Suddenly, I felt an excruciating pain in my wrist. I screamed aloud - Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Heard a “Thud” sound. Dropped the towel and ran to the living room. Mummy fell from chair. She was lying flat on the floor and so did the chair.
