Sales Personnel Skillset
Every person has to sell self once in a while to prove what
they are worthy of…Be it at home, be it at school or be it at work. It is an
experience with which we learn our worth for the other person/scenario and how
we could raise it up to the next level.
With my experience, I am jotting down few points that may
form the skillset for Business Development:
Analysis: To
start with, we need to do prospecting. The root for proper prospecting is
analysis of the Industry/organization/personnel whom we would approach. It will
equip us with all the relevant information about the prospect and hence we
could approach them with intelligence.
Understanding:
With the research analysis, we can exchange our place with the prospect and
feel the as-is situation. To have a better understanding of the same, the
prospect could be probed/empathized. It depends.
Reasoning: Once
we have an understanding. To build the relationship, we can reason with a
solution, if we they need or give an alternative what we have. Let the prospect
decide the next step
Perseverance: It
takes time for someone to consider us worthy. So have the patience to listen
and understand people. Be human. In due course of time, the perseverance would
pay out.
Focus and organize:
Focus on building a relationship through Omni channels and keep your presence
felt within and outside the organization/system. Organize the analysis, thought
process or whatever effort put forth in a metrics for self-analysis. It would
help to streamline a pipeline and make it better with a learning.
